• The director of the 12th International Radio Festival and the heads of related committees discussed the activities of the working groups during a Day 25 (January 21) weekend meeting. • • The director of the information and advertisement committee, Kazem Dadashi, said the committee has been striving to “publicize and popularize” the festival, so it has focused its activities on establishing a connection with radio listeners.
The concentration is best seen in ambient advertisements, the festival’s website and in a call for posters for the 13th international radio festival, which could help the radio enter specialized communities.
Also at the Sunday meeting, director of the international section of the festival Said Ma’dankan recapitulated the domestic and international participants.
He said the international works sent so far are from Afghanistan, Arab African countries, India Malaysia, Russia, and Singapore, while Iranian participants include Alborz, Iran, Javan and Tehran radio networks among others.
Ma’dankan said boards of judges have already been established and that the names and résumés of the members will be soon published on the festival’s website.
Farahani, who represented the technical committee, said the 12th festival would include interviews with distinguished Iranian radio figures in a mobile studio in a beautiful location in Zibakenar, and expressed the program will be aired through FM broadcast band.
Besides, head of the training committee Ismail Marzban highlighted the popular reception of the first phase workshops on public service announcement (PSA), mini-feature and documentary reports.
In the second phase, five other workshops will be held within seven to 10 days prior to the inauguration of the festival, which include three workshops on almost the same subjects as in the previous round, he said.
“But the two other subjects will be slightly more general, and currently we have the two subjects of drama and children in mind, and we are making an effort for holding practical workshops,” Marzban added.
He also said of up to four speeches, including two on the rethinking of the radio, are scheduled to be delivered during the Zibakenar festival. • Briefing Session of Radio Festival Held (2011-11-27 11:31:25 - 97 view) • • The first joint meeting of IRIB deputy director of radio with the secretary and heads of committees of the 12th International Radio Festival of Iran was held on December 26. • • Secretary of the festival, Behrouz Razavinejad, briefed the attendees on the activities of different committees of the event. He enumerated some of the major activities of the committees, including designing an executive plan, coordinating the invitations for The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) members, organizing the domestic and foreign works submitted to the secretariat, contacting the experts in various fields of the event, and appointing officials in charge of the inauguration and closing ceremonies. He then elaborated on the main activities of each committee and called for the proper implementation of every activity. Razavinejad also noted that a comprehensive report on the activities of the 12th International Radio Festival of Iran will be available to universities and other institutions throughout the country after the festival. IRIB Deputy Director of Radio Mohammad-Hossein Soufi was next to speak at the session. He stated that holding this festival has many important achievements. The first one is providing us with a complete report of radio capabilities and limitations in Iran. The second accomplishment is establishing the international radio forum, which is a good opportunity to study the current requirements for a competitive presence in the world radio through consultation with international experts. The third significant result of the event is introducing radio and attracting radio from within and out of the country. • Practical workshops in 12th radio festival (2012-01-28 18:39:37 - 63 view) • • Iranian radio officials say the 12th International Radio Festival will not involve in speeches and seminars, but will focus on practical and operational aspects. • • Head of Training Committee Esmail Marzban said three public service announcement (PSA), mini-feature and training workshops and radio documentary workshops have so far been held.
The results of the workshops will be shortly published on the festival’s website (www.radiofestival.ir) to provide easier access for all radio staff.
Besides the three workshops in question, five others have been planned in the international section, and will be held before the inauguration of the festival somewhere between 7 and 10 Ordibehesht (26-29 April).
The subjects of these workshops are mini-features, PSA, radio documentaries, children’s radio and short plays, “Marzban said.
“This committee is, meanwhile, is corresponding to select teachers to present the subjects in these workshops. Also, two orators have been invited for rethinking of radio. In other cases, we are looking forward to receiving articles to present to the committee of the international radio summit, and immediately afterwards the teachers will be introduced,” he added.
The head of the Radio festival’s training committee highlighted the differences made in the upcoming event compared with the last festival, noting that workshops will be held for further better information of various sections, prior to the reception of participants’ works.
He said the workshops to be held outside of Tehran pursue a fully practical approach and a final production is expected from these workshops. The 12th International Radio Festival is scheduled for Ordibehesht 1391 (May 2012) in Zibakenar, northern province of Gilan.
